Shorts reach is concentrated in Omega War
Organic Shorts supplied most observed game-video views, largely through Omega War. We are keeping the build-in-public programming and testing transfer to other games while restoring business measurement.
Published work
What we learned
- YouTube’s October 25–30 native channel export reports 9,586 views, 22.3742 watch hours and net six subscribers. Among source-qualified formats, 56 Shorts account for 9,100 views and 26 longer videos for 302. Older, technical and unresolved-format content remains separate; different ages, topics and publishing counts prevent a causal format comparison.
- Omega War supplies 8,136 of the identified Shorts views across 34 posts. Ten Omega Shorts published October 26 supply 5,858. The other 22 identified Shorts total 964 views, so repeatable discovery for the other games is still a test.
- The Sexton before-and-after Short reports 943 period views and net three video-attributed subscribers; its parent reports 11 views. The camera-clarification Instagram Reel reports 7,469 views, 20 saves and two attributed follows at its later observation. That Reel explains filming of an unchanged staged scene; it is not a feedback-caused game fix or a matched format winner.
- Instagram’s Last 7 days account card reports 22,188 views, with exact date boundaries unshown. Facebook’s October 25–31 account panel reports 5,364 views and zero follows. Facebook’s exported publication cohort has lifetime metrics, so the two platforms and the different Facebook windows are not pooled.
- Five selected Facebook Reels with available hold data average 2.098–3.882 seconds watched. The full 22-row available range is 1.957–13.99 seconds. This motivates a narrow opening test, not a universal video-length or completion rule.
- The six inspected LinkedIn posts have 26–62 impressions; the Hawgs panel reports one link visit to its App Store destination. That visit is not a verified download or purchase. Substantive developer feedback on X remains separate from named-game access requests.
- TikTok’s displayed account graph predates the catalog backfill and headline fields are unavailable. All 74 Bluesky catalog stories were less than about 6.1 hours old at the first public-counter snapshot. Neither channel has a mature cadence result.
- The review reconciled missing publication records and corrected game identity labels before interpretation. Raw YouTube/Facebook exports and Bluesky API responses were retained; other native panels were transcribed. Author classification remains partial, QA-view impact and production costs are unknown, and no campaign-attributed purchase, download or gameplay result was verified.
Decisions
- Continue changelog highlights, verified feedback investigations, design decisions, weekly games roundups and fiscal operations programming. Their editorial role remains alongside product acquisition campaigns.
- Use Omega’s observed reach as a reason for another comparable test, with separate discovery tests and truthful availability for the other games. Do not transfer the result across games or treat a few subscriber events as repeatable growth.
- Keep parent production focused on additional explanation. The five new flagship Shorts currently have no saved Related target; a bridge is a future intervention, not a completed conversion test.
- Keep the approved goals unchanged: five paid transactions, 50 first-time native downloads, 100 measured eligible game-destination sessions and ten distinct named-game access accounts, with the existing stretch goals. The target week is still in progress; unavailable actuals stay blank.
- Continue organic work under the existing release checks. Paid amplification remains a separate owner decision, and missing attribution cannot be replaced by view counts.
Next
- Freeze source-qualified same-game comparison eligibility before the next three visible-change Shorts. Read every selected outcome at actual 24-hour, 72-hour and seven-day checkpoints; late readings remain late.
- Test one Facebook opening change while preserving the complete consequence. Record real audience response and native hold; collect production effort prospectively.
- Choose one relevant existing Short and parent, verify added value, then record the exact saved Related target, change time and before counters. Seek source-specific traffic before claiming conversion.
- Restore App Store Connect access through normal owner sign-in and verify per-game source filters and complete report days. Verify a real eligible web-session source before scoring acquisition; actual gameplay return remains a separate readiness task.
- Reconcile the in-progress KPI week on November 6 at 10:00 New York time. Keep withheld and delayed sources explicit, and publish the next decisions here.
Evidence
- Sexton interior before-and-after Short
Creative identity and public post. Private owner export for October 25–30, collected November 1: 943 views and net three video-attributed subscribers. The public counter can differ from that historical report window.
- Camera-clarification Instagram Reel
Owner post Insights observed November 1: 7,469 views, 20 saves and two attributed follows; post reporting window unshown. Exploratory older context, not a matched comparison or demonstrated game fix.
- Hawgs acquisition LinkedIn post
Owner post panel observed November 1 reported one link visit; the released post links to the App Store. The counter does not verify an install, payment or unique interested player.
- Published weekly dev diary
Since-published owner panel: 26 views and two engaged views, with six-second overall average viewing. Tiny early sample; detailed retention still processing.
